If you missed our re-broadcast of Tampa Bay area  trumpeter James Suggs playing the music of Miles Davis, you can click above to listen to it now.

The show was an encore presentation of our series “Side Door at the Palladium,” our monthly series featuring concerts recorded at the Palladium at St. Petersburg College.

This performance was recorded February of 2020 at the Side Door Cabaret inside the historic theater, and features a band of all Tampa Bay area residents: Jeremy Carter on tenor saxophone, Jean Bolduc, drums, John Richardson piano and Brandon Robertson, bass.

Special guest appearance by Austin Vickrey on alto sax.

Suggs has been a fixture in the Tampa Bay area for several years. He teaches at the University of South Florida, and his first major label recording, “Your Gonna Hear From Me,” came out in 2018 on Arbors Records.

Side Door at the Palladium airs the first Friday of every month, as a special edition of our Jazz Trip@Ten.

Join us the first Friday of the month at 10 p.m. for Side Door at the Palladium, on WUSF 89.7.
